Global Citizenship and the UNCHR

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was established in 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. In more than six decades, UNHCR has helped tens of millions of people restart their lives. Today, a staff of some 8,600 people in more than 125 countries continues to help some 33.9 million persons. In the first half of 2014, there was a reported increase of 5.5 million displaced persons.

Henley & Partners has forged an innovative partnership with the UNHCR to join forces in support of those at the other end of the spectrum of global mobility. Through a multi-year partnership, Henley & Partners will support UNHCR’s global refugee registration activities with a contribution of over $1 million and further advocate and assist UNHCR’s resource mobilization efforts in the interests of its people of concern.
