Having spent his childhood net and line fishing with his father along the shores of Nevis’ Caribbean coastline, a love of the ocean runs deep for skipper and accomplished fisherman Mally Jeffers. Operating sport fishing charters, a water-taxi service across the narrows, and sunset cruises aboard his boat, Just Relax, Nevisian Mally knows the waters in this corner of the West Indies extremely well.

Head out for a half, or full day of fishing and try your luck casting a line out into tempestuous Atlantic Ocean where wahoo, mahi mahi, and tuna are all fair game. Join Mally for an afternoon of snorkeling and a few cold beers, or ride with him across to Reggae Beach where the rum punch is never in short supply.

Quick fire questions with Mally

What’s your most memorable fishing experience?
Mally says, “I had a few guests from the Four Seasons aboard and we were casting lines out over the drop offs that fringe the Atlantic coast of Nevis. We only spent a few hours in the area but managed to reel in a whopping 26 wahoo!”

Tell me something interesting about yourself:
“I have a real passion for architecture. For a few years, I worked in construction here on Nevis; I’ve had a hand in laying the foundation of a number of buildings on the island!”

What is your favorite place or activity on Nevis?
“I really enjoy relaxing at the Yachtsman Grill in Cades Bay. My brothers and I chill out on the sand and play beach volleyball; a little healthy competition amongst siblings can be a lot of fun!”
